Embossed Warmest Wishes

Hey There! It's been a couple days since I've posted! I've been busy preparing the house for a house guest who arrived today. She'll be staying for 2 weeks, so there was lots to prepare!! Anyhow, I've been dying to get back into the studio because there are some really great challenges out there this week! I made this card for the sketch challenge at 2 Sketches 4 You. It's a great sketch, but once again I struggled with the circle piece. After several different tries, I ended up with this card/pouch which I am pleased with. It's actually a pocket to hold hot chocolate, gift certificate or any other small gift.
I was also able to incorporate the dry embossing challenge at Just Us Girls, (We were supposed to make a birthday card, so I used the sentiment "warmest wishes" so that it could be used for either birthday or Christmas). I used the Quickutz embossing folder and then lightly sanded it so the white core could show through. Fun, huh? Hope you're not growing tired of this color combo, but I LOVE it! Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies:
Stamps: Verve (Delightful & Delicious), Martha Stewart Clear Patterns, PTI (Holiday Treats), CTMH (Connections)
Cardstock: CTMH (Cocoa, Heavenly Blue and White Daisy)
Inks: CTMH (Cocoa and Tulip)
Accessories: Martha Stewart (Ribbon and Baker's Twine), CTMH (Craft Buttons)
Tools: EK Success Edge Punch, Marvy Circle Punch, Quickutz Embossing Folder

  4. Smarty Pants! Who would have thought to make this a pocket card. Funny that you posted on my blog that the sketch I did today was scary to you because this one was for me. But, after seeing your card I am motivated! Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE this color combo that I have seen you use several time? So crisp, clean, cool and wintery. And, the embossed snowflakes are the icing on the cake (uh...card).
