Merry Christmas

I'm back today with a card for the Get Sketchy sketch challenge. I received the stamps sets I won from Flourishes awhile back, and just had to use them. For this card I inked up the reindeer image from the Christmas Tea set. It's an outline image so I just colored it in with a black marker. Hope you're not tired of that plaid stamp from Martha Stewart, yet - I just love it - skies the limit with this one. I also stamped some polka dots on the black cs with black ink. I'ts hard to see on this picture, but it looks great in person!

Get Sketchy Thank You

I thought about taking a week off from challenges this week to get caught up on some things at home, but when I saw Get Sketchy's sketch this week, my thoughts changed. Now I have to be honest with you, when I first saw it I thought, "that's not my style - good week to take off". Then I began thinking about the purposes of challenges. Aren't they meant to sometimes stretch you? Am I growing in my hobby only doing sketches that work for me? Well, I became determined to meet this challenge, and I couldn't be happier with the results!

I decided to shrink the sketch to make it a focal point on a card base, added another one of those layered flowers, and voila! - done!!

Well, here's a card I made with a whole bunch of random products I've purchased this year without having a real purpose for them. Why do I do that? Anyhow, I gathered some of them up to make a card for this week's sketch over at Get Sketchy. I'm in the Christmas mode right now, but wanted to change it up a bit by using a more whimsical color scheme.

This picture shows a more accurate color of fuschia and apple green, along with dark chocolate. I was able to use up some more of these White Chocolate Chip alphabet chipboard stickers from Basic Grey, too.

I have been wanting to play with my new Verve stamps for the last week, and I finally was inspired with this week's Get Sketchy #11. I loved the phrase "You Rock" - thought it would be perfect for my tween nieces! I ended up not being able to use the darling star image that comes with the phrase because it was too big. I think I see another "You Rock" post coming just so I can use it. (:

I got some time to play today in my studio, and I was productive! Participated in lots of challenges so I'll have lots to share this week. Get Sketchy's sketch challenge this week was clean and simple - a style I love! I decided to play with the bicycle stamp from PTI's Everyday Buttons, just because I hadn't used it, yet.

I rummaged through my ribbon stash and found this darling striped ribbon that became the inspiration for my color pallette. Nothing fancy here, but I was pleased with the outcome! Thanks for looking!

Here's my take on the sketch over at Get Sketchy this week. I've been teaching every day this week, so I needed a little "me" time tonight. While spending time in the studio, I realized how much stuff I had that I have never used! CTMH's That's Amore and Journaling spots were some of it. I was disgusted with myself!I know that this is jumping the gun a little with the Valentine's theme, but I just had to start using up some of my stuff! You can never be too prepared, right?

Color Challenge - Thank you

Well, my kids started school this morning. I'm not sure why this year (it's not like it's a new thing anymore), but I felt very emotional and lonely! Being productive and creative are two things that always get me out of a funk, so I spent some time in the studio today. It was extremely hot and humid here today and not feeling fall at all, but this card I made for Dawn's Rasberry Suite Color Challenge definately got me in the fall mood. I missed her last color challenge - too busy - so really wanted to try this one. This card also happens to use a sketch from Get Sketchy. Two challenges in one card - I love that!

I had this really fun damask ribbon from Offray I had been waiting to use, so thought this would be the perfect card to use it on. I stamped the plaid background with Martha Stewart's pattern stamps. Thanks for looking!
